Choosing your class

How the 25 Human classes differ, what slots they give you, and why the Rune Master class is the odd one out.

What a class gives you

A Human class sets your archetype and, for some classes, expands your slot capacity. Every class is Human-exclusive — Divine beings never have classes.

Base Human slots: 12 ability slots · 6 artifact slots · 1 affinity slot.

Slot bonuses matter more than they look

A class that grants extra artifact slots changes what your build can carry, not just how much. The Build Workshop applies each class's real bonuses when it validates your loadout, so an illegal build is flagged rather than quietly accepted.

Runes and raid access

Runes are raid-exclusive artifacts. Each of the 16 affinities has a matching rune. A rune only reaches its full bonded effect when its wielder's affinity matches. Runes require the Rune Master class — without it the build validation will refuse the rune.

Unbonded still works. A rune equipped by a wielder whose affinity does not match still functions, at its weaker unbonded tier. It is not a dead slot.

How to choose

There is no single best class, and this site deliberately publishes no tier list — there is no live match data to base one on, and inventing one would be dishonest. Start from the mechanic that sounds like how you want to play, then check that your class can carry the artifacts you care about.
